Madam, - It was very instructive of Raymond Deane (January 4th) to remind us once again that the existence of Israel's security fence is a crime.

Can we therefore presume, in this mad, topsy-turvy world, that saving lives (which the existence of the fence has achieved to a remarkable extent) is also a crime? - Yours, etc,
