It’s a small world, after all

Sir, – This year our class is studying reducing deforestation, conserving water, preventing climate change and supporting biodiversity. We also studied the Millennium Development Goals. All the goals were meant to be completed this year.

This year we are entering a competition called the Irish Aid Awards.

We have many tips on how to look after our world at home, at school and at work.

It includes small tips like turning off the light to bigger tips like remembering to turn on the dishwasher only when it is absolutely full.

Every year our school enters this competition. It is a really good competition because it makes everyone a bit more aware of what is happening in our world. – Yours, etc,
