A chara, – I was surprised to read that a Kenyan parliamentary committee says Ireland is “no longer a lucrative political or economic hub” (Home News, May 25th).

The committee may not be aware that Kenyan exports to Ireland have grown by 48.5 per cent since 2008 and following the opening of its embassy here. This rise occurred even while Irish imports from the rest of the world were falling.

Our organisation has had the kind assistance of the embassy in bringing Kenyan value-added products into the Irish market. – Yours, etc,
