Sir, – As our country mires itself further into the depths of recession and perhaps imminently a worldwide depression, it saddens me that some of us are still holding on to the last vestiges of snobbery.
Many of my clients struggle to service the family home mortgage, not to mind annual private school fees and Santa’s wish list of iPads, iTouches, etc. It would appear that “keeping up appearances” is more important than living the truth. The euro crisis may be an external financial reality for some, but it’s a shame that the simultaneous personal financial crisis cannot be looked upon with a little more compassion.
There go all of us but for the grace of God. – Yours, etc,
