Madam, - Every time I stand at a bus shelter I learn something new about Enda Kenny's view of how he is single-handedly going to shape the future for all of us. After a lengthy hibernation on the backbenches, like the Frankenstein creation he has become suddenly electrified. It seems, that all by himself, he will end the crisis in our hospitals, make criminals pay for their crimes, sack those who waste public money, etc, etc.
Whatever about what the rest of Fine Gael might be doing during Enda's one-man crusade, the question is: will there be anything for Pat Rabbitte to do? Can we assume that the views expressed by Enda will form part of their joint programme for government? And in the highly unlikely event that they form the next government, will Pat have a role merely in implementing what Enda appears to have already decided? - Yours, etc,
BERNARD BROWNE, Elm Mount Avenue, Dublin 9.
