A chara, - Congratulations to Tom Humphries on his piece about the merits of Brian Kerr as the new Irish soccer manager (LockerRoom, January 27th). His astute observations have been directly implicit in the outrageous fortunes that have befallen Irish soccer since the infamous Keane interview in Saipan. Having written the piece that began the furore, he has now written the piece that should be the full stop to this troubled period in Irish soccer history.
