Madam, - As an avid and loyal Kerry supporter living in Dublin, I have often found myself defending Paul Galvin's passion for football. However his trangressions last Sunday in the game against Clare were indefensible. The volatility and ill-temper he displayed towards both officials and team mates demonstrated a temperament that is not synonymous with the great sporting "green and gold".
In an era when aggression on our streets is endemic, I believe a six-month ban sends a clear message that there is no place for such behaviour on our sporting pitches. Galvin's skill will be a loss to our three-in-a row campaign; however, sadly he demonstrated last Sunday that he does not deserve to lead our proud county. - Yours, etc,
DEIRDRE MORIARTY, Baskin Lane, Kinsealy, Co Dublin.
