Sir, - Herbert Quigley criticises (January 8th) Harold Pinter's article "Uncle Sam: still kicking world's ass". He signs himself "American citizen". He does not say to which country in the Americas he owes his allegiance.
If, however, he is a citizen of Chile, Guatamala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, or Honduras he must have noticed the not so subtle transfer of Uncle Sam's dominance from military to economic or the economic blockade in the case of Cuba. - Yours, etc.,
