A Chara, - I refer to Matt Nolan's letter (November 24th) about the Equality Authority's information booklet on the Equal Status Act. The legislation was enacted on 25th October 2000 and there have been delays in supplying the Irish version of this publication. This will be rectified shortly. The Equality Authority is committed to realising positive change and promoting equality for all in Irish Society. This challenges us to operate in a manner that ensures that our services are accessible to all. This necessitates that all information is available to our customers at all times and in appropriate formats. This includes having publications available in Irish. These are also available on our website at www.equality.ie.
Of course there is an additional challenge to provide information to our customers in other formats such as braille, audio tape, and a range of other languages, etc. - Is mise, etc.
