A chara, – Tom Horgan (Letters, October 30th) laments the fact that he has rarely heard the response "Well" to the often asked "How are you?".
My favourite response to that question was received from an elderly gentleman who responded, “I am as well as can be expected, from reasonable maintenance, withstanding the ravages of time”. Possibly a motto for us all to live by.
