Sir, – Having experienced the “care and concern” of both HSE and Garda officials for last weekend’s celebration, I trust the same will be afforded to the large crowds attending the All-Ireland football final this coming weekend? This “care and concern” should obviously include a 5km vehicle-free zone; warnings regarding the possibility of contracting measles; and the provision of a morgue in the event of a death in the crowd during the match. Failure to do so could be interpreted as lack of care and concern for the thousands attending the match. Or is it possible that an alternative interpretation could be that there was another agenda to keep pilgrims – especially older ones – from attending the papal Mass? – Yours, etc,
MARY McDONAGH,
