Sir, - Your editorial (April 29th) blames the Left in France for "failing to mobilise support for more open migration necessary for economic development, and are now dealing with the consequences". Would you care to back that up with France's unemployment figures? I suppose we are meant to take from that that all the Nigerians and Irish lawyers milking our asylum system are necessary for Ireland's economic development. Perhaps your editorials would like to persuade us that the lawyers who are milking the car insurance market are good for our pockets as well. Misleading bias like this is a good way to grow a Paddy Le Pen. - Yours, etc.,
