Sir, – I take great exception to the teacher quoted in "Fury at ordinary-level paper" (June 5th) who said that only the "weakest of the weak" take ordinary-level maths in the Leaving. In fact it is a personal choice by most people who do not wish to follow a career in maths and science, etc.
Most of the 30,000 exam hopefuls are taking honour papers in all other subjects. Is that the weakest of the weak? – Yours, etc,
