Madam, - I am sure it is clear to lawyers, but I am curious what century our judges believe they are living in when one esteemed justice has a problem with barristers not wearing wigs in court, while another, an honourable member of the Supreme Court, by way of rebuke and explanation, relies on a vocabulary that includes "plain as a pikestaff" and "doughtily" (The Irish Times, December 22nd). - Yours, etc,
ULTAN Ó BROIN, South Circular Road, Dublin 8.
