Sir, – Let us be thankful that our forthcoming presidential election is not by premium-rate phone voting. – Yours, etc,
Sir, – So, we only learn of this shameless act of gombeenism four years after the event. It is implausible that nobody in Leinster House knew at the time. Why were we not told in 2007? Maybe then Michael Healy-Rae would not have been appointed to the Citizens Information Board.
I would also like to know what lurks in Kerry County Council’s phone records. – Yours, etc,
Sir, – I was more than a little surprised to learn that the Houses of the Oireachtas Service was aware of the phone calls made to support Michael Healy-Rae back in 2007, were forced to block the calls, and wrote to a deputy about these calls but received no reply, yet this issue has only surfaced now, four years later.
Why has it taken so long for this blatant and shameless waste of taxpayers’ money to be exposed, and how many other minor scandals are the service sitting on? – Yours, etc,
