Sir, – While Padraig Rice may believe that the notion of a library lending a guitar is unheard of (Letters, March 20th), I am delighted to inform him that Mayo libraries have been lending violins, accordions cellos,drums, horns, trumpets, keyboards, and even guitars (acoustic and electric) for many years. He is most welcome to view our extensive collection whenever he is released from the 5km limit and hopefully the Rebel County can benefit from the foresight of Mayo County Council in advance of the opening of the proposed new library in the second city. – Yours, etc,
