Madam, - I am working on a research project on the life and times of the Irish nationalist politician and writer Stephen Gwynn (1864-1950).
I am writing to appeal to any of your readers who may know of, or hold, archive material relevant to a study of Gwynn that is not available in the official institutions. Many of Gwynn's papers were destroyed in 1922 when his library was bombed by republicans; but the whereabouts of the majority of his papers after this, during what was a productive literary career, is something of a mystery. - Yours, etc,
