Madam, - Can I take this opportunity to thank all those people who seem unable to use correctly a multiple lane carriage-way. I was able to drive blissfully from Naas to Newlands Cross on Monday evening in the left-most lane, while everyone seemed intent to queue in the middle and right hand lanes.
Some people would say that more education is needed, and that the Road Safety Authority should run an information campaign similar to the one they ran on overtaking, or telling truck drivers to watch their height. But I say no, don't bother.
Let the people who can't use these carriage-ways infuriate each other in their scramble to be in the "fast" lane, and I'll continue to drive unhindered in the "slow" lane. - Yours, etc,
MICHAEL BARRY,
Hacketstown,
Co Carlow.
