Sir, – Taoiseach Enda Kenny followed an age-old tradition observed by many primary schools in the northwest during the tenure of the Gore-Booth family when he took his class for their annual outing to Lissadell House in Co Sligo. It appears that he did not honour the second part of the venerable rubric by taking the class to the seafront fairground in nearby Bundoran for a ride on the Wilmot Waltzers and a 99 ice cream cone on the way home. They must have been very disappointed, poor things. – Yours, etc,
CORMAC MEEHAN,
Bundoran, Co Donegal.
Sir, –Upturn Abbey? – Yours, etc,

Sir, – What if the Cabinet had met in Ballymun, the Capuchin Day Centre or Coolmine Treatment Centre, what then might the message have been? – Yours, etc,
HOLLY MULLARKEY,
