Madam, - Having read the list of tax defaulters in your edition of June 14th, I must say I was deeply shocked.
As a lifetime member of the PAYE classes I find it disgusting that so many of our so called "leading lights" have been behaving in this manner. I was particularly shocked to find that two of the largest defaulters are from my home city.
I would implore right-minded people all over Ireland to think twice before they grace anybody on this list of shame with their business again. - Yours, etc.,
JOHN WALSH,

Madam, - The publication of the list of tax-defaulters is only part of the story.
Why not provide a more complete service for your readers by publishing a list of those professionals - solicitors, accountants, bank managers and others - who advised and assisted the defaulters in the practice of corruption?
It is time that these self-styled advocates of commercial probity were exposed for what they were - colluders in a dishonest scheme to deprive the country of essential taxes, and of the services which these taxes could have provided. - Yours, etc.,
LIAM CURHAM,
The Folly,
Waterford.
