Sir, – Your Editorial stating “New laws cannot be applied retrospectively. So anti-corruption legislation proposed by Alan Shatter will not trouble those dishonest [in the past]” overlooks the fact that existing legislation is more than adequate to send most of the wrongdoers to jail (“Cleaning the stables”, June 22nd).
As a director of a tiny apartment block I lived in, I was informed of my duties, as a director under current legislation and was amazed at the onerous duties imposed. Were they just for the “little people” and not applicable to the insider-elite? – Yours, etc,
