Sir, - While I agree with Sean Lydon (June 30th) about the injustice of women in the public service losing pension rights after marrying and leaving their jobs, I must point out that Mr Lydon is incorrect in saying these women were sacked. In 1970 I got the boot in similar circumstances. When I objected, I got a lovely letter back from Dublin telling me I hadn't been sacked after all - I was only "obliged to resign"! - Yours, etc.,
