Low turnout and voter choice

Sir, – Adam Kehoe (Letters, July 15th) argues that the blame for low turnout in the Dublin Bay South byelection lies not with the voters but the candidates – most of whom held broadly the same position on the Government's public health measures. Less than a week before the byelection, I took a stroll around the northwestern portion of the constituency, from the south inner city to Rathgar and back again. I saw posters for a particular candidate bearing the slogan "No More Lockdowns". She received 164 votes. – Yours, etc,

WENDY LYON,

Dublin 7.
