Sir, – I note with interest several letters (August 18th, 20th) concerned with the proposed demolition of the Luce Hall in Trinity College Dublin. I hope that the plaque on its wall will be preserved somewhere. It reads, "In memory of JV Luce and AA Luce: scholars and sportsmen".
It used to amuse my husband, John Victor Luce, that there was a building named after him while he was still alive. Sadly this is no longer the case. – Yours, etc,
