Sir, - You don't have to be a scholar from Trinity College to know that O'Connell Street is a national disgrace.
1. There are too many fast-food outlets, and they do not cater for families.
2. We need more seats for people to sit down on and relax.

3. We need more shops like Madame Nora's used to be (a smart lingerie shop for ladies, very different from the bad taste of a shop like Anne Sommers - opposite the GPO of all places).
4. I am sick of the plastic signs everywhere which are not in keeping with the spirit of the place.
What is the benefit of the Spire? I can see none. Bring back the pillar, whoever you want to put on top of it. - Yours, etc.,
