Sir, – Along with the proposed introduction of two new subjects at second level, a module on how to maintain clothes could usefully be introduced in all secondary schools ("Teacher-based assessment to feature with greater emphasis on project work from 2024", News, March 29th).
Being able to carry out minor sewing repairs and alterations would save a small fortune over one’s lifetime, while also going some way to circumventing fast fashion, with the added bonus of being environmentally friendly. – Yours, etc,
