Madam, - I am researching the life of the Irish-born artist Margaret Saunders (1882-1959) who trained at the Royal Hibernian Academy in the early 1900s and exhibited regularly at the RHA from 1904 to 1918.
She was born in Dublin and lived in south Dublin until about 1917. After living in London for a few years she emigrated to Australia to join other family members in 1921.
Margaret Saunders was known for her portraits, especially in pastels, but did other subjects too. I would like to hear from any of your readers who may have any of her work. Most of her work was signed in the bottom left-hand corner or on the back.I am hoping to come to Ireland next year to do further research.
I can be contacted by post at the address below, by email at elissa@globaldial.com or by telephone (00 618 9298 8623). - Yours, etc,
