Madam, - I am seeking information about Mary Carter of Grafton Street, Dublin, who sold glass and china there between 1782 and 1788. She brought in glass from at least two different sources - Belfast and Cork.
Her name is often impressed on the bottom of the piece: "Mary Carter & Son, 80 Grafton St, Dublin". Her pieces may be plain or decorated with nautical themes. Act of Union motifs or the toast "The Land We Live In" may also be engraved on them.
