Sir, - While following media coverage of the school massacre outside Denver, Colorado, I heard the news conference in which President Clinton responded to the tragedy. He referred to St Paul's words, that we "see through a glass darkly" and can only "partly understand." He then appealed to Americans, saying that "We need to reach out to our children and to teach them to express their anger and resolve conflict with words and not weapons." Would that Mr Clinton convert to his own message. - Yours, etc.,
