Sir, - The continued aggression against the East Timorese has the consistent support of the Indonesian military and the armed militia. Either the Indonesian government does not want to control its armed forces and their murderous henchmen, or it is incapable of doing so. News reports and pictures of Indonesian troops nonchalantly observing barbarity tells us a lot about the attitude of the Indonesian government.

An immediate economic embargo on Indonesian products and holiday destinations will help the Indonesian authorities to quicken their resolve. Let us in Ireland be the first to begin the boycott from today.

Our Government will have to conduct an instant review of our exports to Indonesia. - Yours, etc.,
