Sir, – Frank Greaney (Letters, October 27th) reminds me of the time when Maureen O'Hara appeared on The Late, Late Show some years ago.
Gay Byrne asked Maureen what did John Wayne whisper to her in the last scene of The Quiet Man. She replied: "Only three people know the answer to that, John Wayne, God and myself. John is no longer with us, God won't tell and neither will I!" – Yours, etc,
