Madam, - Thanks to Denis Fahey for pointing out (June 23rd) that the orange, white and green tricolour belongs to the Ivory Coast.
This is the flag that is depicted on the starboard side of every Ryanair plane I have seen. I assume it is so depicted as a reversed version of the Irish Tricolour that appears on the port side.
Flying a flag upside-down is recognised as a distress signal. I'm not sure what a flag flown in reverse signifies, apart from ignorance. But it is insulting to the Irish nation that Europe's biggest low-cost carrier can't be bothered to depict its registration accurately. - Yours, etc,
