Sir, - David Reddy (March 26th) is quite right that the situation at Merrion Gates is poor. Is it not time to lower the level of the DART tracks between Sydney Parade and Booterstown, so that they run under the road at Merrion Gates. The gradients involved in such a scheme need only be about 1.3 per cent. During construction, one track could be used for trains in both directions between the two stations.
