Sir, – Michael Noonan is right– some people are "allergic to work" ("Noonan's 'allergic to work' comment criticised", May 7th). To manage their appalling affliction, these nominally employed individuals tend to take inordinately long summer holidays, go on winter breaks, have Easter vacations, enjoy bank holiday weekends away, go on junkets and jollies and gallivant all over the globe to celebrate St Patrick's Day.
And when they’re not engaging in such therapeutic activities, they’re usually involved in idle chatter in the Dáil chamber or addressing some business types at a chamber of commerce lunch. – Yours, etc,
