Sir, - In the light of the recent warnings by the UK Government discouraging children under the age of 16 from using mobile telephones, we would support the issuing of a similar warning here. There is still a great deal of uncertainty regarding the ill-effects of microwave radiation and our association is at present undertaking some research into this area.
Until the effects of microwave radiation are more fully understood, we should discourage the sale and use of mobile telephones to all young people under the age of 18 and urge that mobile telephone masts should be sited as far away as possible from schools and centres of high population. - Yours, etc.,
