Madam, - I would like to comment on recent statements made by writers to your paper regarding the use of mobile phones in vehicles. "Hands-free" phones are no more distracting than having a conversation with your passenger. Are we to ban this also?
Let us not forget the safety advantages of mobile means of communication, particularly in rural areas. How many lives have been saved by the rapid arrival of the emergency services to an accident scene thanks to a mobile call?
