Sir, - Your readers may be interested in a report on mobile phones published in the Silicon Valley newspaper - San Jose Mercury News. The University of Toronto study looked at 699 drivers.

It found that their risk of having a car collision was 4.3 times higher when they used a mobile phone. It also found that "hands free" phones were no safer than hand held phones.

It is technically possible, to prove when a mobile phone is in use. When will our legal profession obtain such information to prove that a driver contributed to a crash by using a mobile phone? - Yours, etc.
