Madam, – I note that an objection has been lodged to the proposed building of a mosque at Monivea, Galway. All the predictable reasons have been trotted out, of course. But would they be raised if the proposal were for the building of a Catholic church? I doubt it. There are 40,000 Muslims in Ireland. An Islamic secondary school is planned for Dublin. I believe we should welcome and encourage the building of a place of worship for Muslims at Monivea. – Yours, etc,
