Madam, - Having recently seen Michael Moore's much heralded documentary film Fahrenheit 9/11 I was left frustrated and disappointed. It is, no doubt, on account of the need to sell cinema tickets to the masses that the film is laced with half-truths, sensationalist claims and cheap stunts.
The one exceptionally important point that Moore made was glossed over and virtually submerged among a plethora of over-dramatic scenes and histrionic claims. Moore rightly, but all too briefly, claims that the current US government subjects its citizens to a climate of fear. Ironically, that culture of fear and Moore's own brand of overstatement are two sides of the same coin; both are highly insecure methods of capturing the public's attention. - Yours, etc.,
