Madam, - The Education and Parenting section of The Irish Times hasbecome increasingly devoted to offering guidance on methods parentsshould use to ensure the correct psychological formation of theirchild's character.
I am sure that parents who are sufficiently discerning to "take The Times" are quite capable of bringing up their own offspring.
Could we please have more investigative journalism and lesscondescending, patronising "advice" from professorial types onpolitically correct ways to bring up our children? I want to know whythere are no school attendance officers. I want to know what, exactly,is the "industrial dispute" that has delayed the establishment of theEducation Welfare Board. I want to know why there is inadequateprovision of educational support for dyslexic children. And so on.
I resent having to wade through the latest trendy psychobabble, presented to me as a "positive role-model", to get at the facts.
More "teach", less "preach", please. - Yours, etc.,
Cummerduff,
Gorey,
