PHILLIP GREEN,
Sir, - Much credit is due to Dorothea Dowling and her Motor Insurance Advisory Board for their exemplary report (The Irish Times, April 18th). They have done the public a great service. Your paper aptly described it as a "four-year trawl through the bowels of the insurance industry".
One wonders why the once-esteemed profession of law in Ireland did not submit to a similar examination. Sharp odours in the air coupled with a rather flatulent response to the report would suggest that an internal examination might greatly improve its condition. - Yours, etc.,
Dr MAURICE GUÉRET, Fortfield Road, Dublin 6w.
... ... * ... * ... * ... ...
Sir, - After reading about the MIAB report on the motor insurance industry, people will come to a shared conclusion: "Greedy legal eagles". And remember the Law Society did not make submission to the report.
Shame on you! - Yours, etc.,
PHILLIP GREEN, Parnell Cottages, Malahide, Co Dublin.
