Sir. - Rosaleen Davey writes (August 27th) of the late Charles Brady: "Those who have never seen a Brady painting would be enriched by seeking out his work." Unfortunately, there are few, if any, of Brady's paintings on show in our public galleries

The same is true of the work of Arthur Armstrong, Gerard Dillon, George Campbell, Norah McGuinness, Nano Reid, Daniel O'Neill, Hilary Heron, Patrick Collins and a score of other important figures in modern Irish art. Not only is this a great loss to the public, it also shows reprehensible neglect of our artistic heritage. Our artists are fated to die, but must their work too be buried? - Yours, etc.,
