Madam, - I hold no brief for Minister for Health Mary Harney, but I do recognise her courage and sense of public duty in attempting to undo many years' neglect of the health service.
I also have much respect for Mr Maurice Neligan. Why would I
not? He saved my life 28 years ago through his skill as a cardiac
surgeon. I witnessed then at first hand his dedication and concern
for patients. I am saddened, therefore, to read his repeated
references in your Health Supplement to Mary Harney as "Minister
for Trolleys". It seems somewhat snide and unworthy. - Yours, etc,
