Madam, - Heartiest congratulations to the NRA. Without its beaverings, the archaeological treasure just unearthed would probably have lain undiscovered for another millennium.
I have come to the conclusion that the existing N3 should never have been built where it now is. It should be closed forthwith just north of Dunshaughlin and just south of Navan. That portion should then be dug up to reveal the undoubted treasures that were buried under the tarmac when it was originally built.
The daily commuters will just have to acknowledge the stupidity of their decision to live in the likes of Navan if their workplace is in Dublin. These people must finally accept the primacy of the past over the present. They can continue to get to Dublin via Mullingar to the west or Drogheda to the east. It may take a little more than 24 hours a day to get to work, do their work, and return home again. But that's OK. And don't forget that 25 years from now there will be a train service from Navan to Dublin.
By the way, has any consideration been given to what lies under the N2 as it crosses the Boyne? - Yours, etc,
VINCENT MAC CARTHY, Cloncat, Fordstown, Co. Meath.
