Madam, - Fintan O'Toole (Opinion, February 6th) is right to describe the new Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre as "utterly soulless".

Our company has brought tens of thousands of overseas visitors to this, Ireland's single largest tourist attraction outside Dublin. In eight years of operation we have not had one complaint about the facilities at the cliffs, yet in its wisdom Clare County Council has foisted an expensive and unnecessary visitor centre on incoming tour operators such as ourselves.

We are now faced with a seven-fold increase in our coach parking charge.

Once there, tourists face a bewildering array of further options to part them from their cash. From being one of Ireland's most popular natural wonders, the cliffs are in danger of being associated with "rip-off Ireland". - Yours, etc,
