Sir, - If the level of scaremongering in Dr Garret FitzGerald's column of June 1st on the Nice Treaty is anything to go by, the next referendum on Nice will be one of the most heated and divisive in recent decades. Such a tone will almost certainly lead to another No.
I voted against Nice last year because for the first time it would split Europe into first- and second-class countries, a proposition with which I disagree. I am not about to be bullied by proponents of Nice into changing my vote. - Yours, etc.,
