Sir, - The injured police officers and the family of Nigel Dodds will have the sympathy, and good will of all right thinking people following the apparent attempt on their lives in the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children. The arrogant blasphemy of trying to snuff out dissent by assassination is nothing other than naked fascism. Attempting to carry it through in the sanctuary of a hospital compounds the sickness of the act.
As a group, we are disgusted by this latest exhibition of depravity on the part of those misguided enough to believe that any cause - least of all the one which they espouse - can be advanced by such a wicked action. We join with others in wishing the Dodds family well, and we trust that their son was able to enjoy some comfort and peace with his family at Christmas. - Yours, etc.,
