No bike, no joke

Sir, – It’s 6.30am and I am about to board the Dart with my bike when the stationmaster stops me and says I can’t bring the bike onto the train because it is rush hour. It is April 1st, but he is not joking. The train is virtually empty, but he is not joking.  This is the week when the UN published its report on climate change, but still, he is not joking. I am not saying that Iarnród Éireann needs to be funnier, but I do feel it needs to sharpen its definition of rush hour. Yours, etc,
