No bus passes for shuttle service

Here in Malahide we have a new shuttle bus service from suburbs to the railway station. Its website contains the following statement: “We regret that the Dept of Social Protection does not admit new services to its scheme for reduced fares for pensioners”.

That does not appear in the proposals from the National Transport Authority. I wonder why? Before we all give the new proposals, which have much to commend them, a welcome, let’s have an answer from the NTA on this one for those who may be about to lose their free travel in an underhand manner. – Yours, etc,

(Rev Dr) NORMAN E
