Sir, – Today I failed to make a bank cash transfer between AIB Maynooth and a branch of the Ulster Bank not in Outer Mongolia but less than 30 miles away in our little country. AIB wrote out a bank draft, I carried it to the Maynooth branch of the Ulster Bank and I waited in the queue. A very pleasant young man dealt with it.
I’m 81 years old, but I’m sure I didn’t dream it.
That’s what my grandfather did the century before last.
